Job summary

Toptal is seeking a Chief Technology Officer to drive AI-first product and engineering. You will own the AI architecture, define best practices, and push agentic engineering into production at scale.

You will lead resourcing, set technical direction, and collaborate with executives to deliver measurable business impact while maintaining high standards of quality and speed. This is a remote leadership role requiring English proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Proven senior engineering leadership with hands‑on code and system design.
• Deep knowledge of modern AI engineering, foundation models, and evaluation.
• Experience leading remote/global engineering teams and hiring.

Responsibilities

• Own AI technology strategy and the architecture beneath it.
• Deploy agentic engineering at scale across core workflows.
• Define evaluation and quality regimes for AI systems.
• Lead end-to-end platform architecture and operations.
