Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. is building the Blockchain Data Platform team to ingest, normalize, and serve data across major blockchains. You will own end-to-end services from design to production, shaping APIs, data contracts, and SDKs for external developers and Coinbase teams.

The role focuses on distributed systems for low-latency data processing, with a strong emphasis on performance, reliability, and cost, in a remote-first environment with periodic in-person surges.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of software engineering in distributed or data systems.
• Strong systems design with partitioning and consistency tradeoffs.
• Backend proficiency in Go and/or Python.
• Experience with Kafka, gRPC, Redis, S3, and databases.
• Knowledge of blockchain/crypto data is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate distributed systems for real-time blockchain data ingestion, indexing, and query.
• Own delivery of chain integrations, migrations, and backfills.
• Collaborate with product/platform teams on data contracts and SDKs.
• Improve latency, reliability, and cost; optimize storage boundaries.
• Support code reviews, testing, and use of AI tools to improve workflow.
