Job summary

EMPACT-Suicide Prevention Center, part of La Frontera family, seeks a Hotline Therapist to support callers on our suicide prevention line from Tempe, AZ. Remote work is possible but applicants must be AZ residents and able to participate in crisis interventions for veterans and their families.

Responsibilities include assessing needs, providing safe clinical interventions, documenting accurately, and collaborating with internal programs.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the behavioral health field.
• Crisis experience preferred.
• Experience working with Veterans and Veteran families preferred.
• Passion for working with Military Veterans and their families.

Responsibilities

• Answer all phone lines in a timely and professional manner.
• Assess clinical situations and needs of callers.
• Provide safe and effective clinical interventions.
• Complete clinical documentation thoroughly and accurately.
• Forward internal referrals with required information in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with internal and external clients and maintain a positive attitude.
• Monitor call-in times for 72-Hour Suicide Watch or Safety Follow-Up.
• Occasionally work beyond shift when crisis requires or paperwork incomplete.
• Attend required meetings and training, including outside regular hours.
• Assist hotline coordinator in training new staff.
• Ensure forms stocked and areas organized during downtime; complete projects as required.
