Job summary

The Mortgage Law Firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to manage creditor bankruptcy matters and support our bankruptcy practice. You will handle an assigned caseload, protect creditor rights through Chapter 7, 11, 12, and 13 matters, and provide guidance to clients and staff with precision and timely updates.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Active bar license in good standing in CA or other listed states.
• Minimum of five years licensed to practice law in at least one listed state.
• Experience representing creditors in bankruptcy proceedings.
• Admission to the applicable U.S. Bankruptcy Court or ability to obtain.
• Strong working knowledge of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code and rules.
• Ability to manage a high-volume caseload with limited supervision.
• Strong legal research, analytical, drafting, negotiation, advocacy, and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency with Word, Outlook, Teams, Adobe Acrobat, Westlaw, and e-filing.

Responsibilities

• Manage an assigned portfolio of creditor bankruptcy matters through resolution.
• Analyze petitions, schedules, plans, claims, and notices to protect client rights.
• Develop and execute case strategies compliant with law and client instructions.
• Monitor dockets and deadlines; communicate updates to clients and teams.
• Review and approve work product before submission; ensure accuracy.
