Job summary

Cayuse Language Connect, LLC is seeking Indigenous Mexican Language Interpreters to provide real-time court interpretation in remote settings. The role requires proficiency in English and one of several Indigenous Mexican languages, with a focus on confidentiality and cultural sensitivity in all interactions.

Interpreters may work in a variety of court-related environments, including hearings, pretrials, and immigration matters.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
• 3+ years of court interpretation, immigration, trafficking, hearings.
• Native or near-native fluency in both English and Indigenous Mexican Languages: Nahuatl, Yucatec Maya, Tzeltal & Tzotzil, Mixtec, Zapotec, and Otomi.
• Familiarity with legal terminology.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and act impartially.

Responsibilities

• Accurately interpret spoken communication in real time, preserving meaning, tone, and intent.
• Interpret across legal settings including court hearings, trials, depositions, and other proceedings.
• Maintain confidentiality and impartiality in all interactions.
• Complete required documentation and reports per protocols.
• Comply with applicable laws and professional conduct.
• Other duties as assigned.
