Job summary

Cayuse Language Connect, LLC is seeking Indigenous Mexican Language Interpreters for remote, part-time hourly work. Interpreters will handle court-related proceedings and ensure accurate, confidential interpretation across settings.

Requirements include 3+ years of court interpretation, near-native fluency in English and Indigenous Mexican Languages, and familiarity with legal terminology. On-call and travel may be required to support various legal matters.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
• 3+ years of court interpretation, immigration, trafficking hearings.
• Native or near-native fluency in both English and Indigenous Mexican Languages: Nahuatl, Yucatec Maya, Tzeltal & Tzotzil, Mixtec, Zapotec, Otomi.
• Familiarity with legal terminology.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and impartiality.

Responsibilities

• Accurately interpret spoken communication in real time, preserving meaning, intent, and tone.
• Facilitate cross-cultural understanding by clarifying non-verbal cues and culture-specific concepts.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and impartiality.
• Complete required documentation, logs, and reports per protocols.
• Comply with federal, state, and local laws and client policies.
• Other duties as assigned.
