Cayuse Language Connect, LLC is seeking Indigenous Mexican Language Interpreters to provide court interpretation services remotely as needed. Languages include Nahuatl, Yucatec Maya, Tzeltal & Tzotzil, Mixtec, Zapotec, and Otomi.

This part-time hourly role requires English and a target Indigenous language, confidentiality, professional conduct, and flexibility for on-site court appearances when required. Pay ranges from $75 to $95 per hour, with on-call responsibilities.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 3+ years of court interpretation, immigration, trafficking hearings.
• Native or near-native fluency in English and Indigenous Mexican Languages: Nahuatl, Yucatec Maya, Tzeltal & Tzotzil, Mixtec, Zapotec, and Otomi.
• Familiarity with legal terminology.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and act impartially.

Responsabilidades

• Accurately interpret spoken communication in real time, preserving meaning, intent and tone.
• Clarify non-verbal cues and culture-specific concepts to facilitate understanding.
• Maintain confidentiality and impartiality in all interactions.
• Complete documentation, logs and reports per protocols.
• Comply with applicable laws, policies and codes of professional conduct.
• Other duties as assigned.
