Job summary

Relativity is seeking a Counsel for Commercial Transactions to advise on a broad range of customer-facing and strategic agreements, with a focus on SaaS, software licensing, cloud services, and AI-enabled offerings.

The role collaborates with Sales, Finance, Security and other teams to enable growth, manage risk, and standardize contracting processes while leveraging AI-powered tools to improve efficiency.

Qualifications

• Four to six years of relevant experience in-house and/or at a law firm supporting technology transactions.
• Experience negotiating SaaS, software, cloud services, professional services, data processing, and enterprise commercial agreements.
• Experience supporting complex commercial contracting environments.
• Understanding of technology, including legal technology, cloud services, software licensing models, information security, privacy, IP, and regulatory considerations.
• Experience supporting AI-enabled products and emerging technology issues.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead customer, procurement, strategic commercial negotiations, transactions, and technology-related legal work by drafting, reviewing and negotiating software, SaaS and hybrid, cloud services, AI-related offerings, and strategic partnership agreements.
• Provide legal advice and business counsel on commercial and operational issues, handling a high volume of contracts with clarity and practical solutions.
• Engage with customers to ensure they feel heard and to deliver effectively.
• Suggest and implement process improvements, including new standard forms or variations to align with product needs.
• Leverage AI legal tech tools to improve efficiency and flexibility in contracting workflows.
• Support pricing initiatives and governance projects with Finance and business stakeholders.
• Participate in internal approval workflows and respond to stakeholder questions.
