Job summary

Canon Medical Systems USA, Inc. is seeking a Counsel in Santa Fe, NM to advise on commercial, legal, and compliance matters for a medical device company, reporting to the VP of Legal & Compliance.

The role involves negotiating contracts, reviewing proposals, ensuring Truth in Advertising compliance, and guiding governance on anti-kickback and FDA issues. The successful candidate will have a JD, bar admission, and 3 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Law degree and bar admission are required.
• Three years of attorney experience, preferably in medical devices.
• Knowledge of healthcare laws including FDA, HIPAA, and False Claims Act.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial contracts with customers, vendors, and partners.
• Review materials for RFP responses and marketing collateral for regulatory compliance.
• Advise on sponsorships, grants, and healthcare compliance policies.
• Manage litigation and pre-litigation matters with outside counsel.
• Provide legal guidance on employment, privacy, and other regulatory issues.
• Develop and deliver training on legal topics.
