Job summary

Wealth Enhancement seeks a Counsel in Employment Law to provide strategic legal counsel on employment matters, employee relations, restrictive covenants, and related topics. This role collaborates with HR, Recruiting, and business leaders to manage risk and support objectives.

The position is fully remote within the United States and offers a base salary range of $110,000.00 to $130,000.00, plus an annual bonus opportunity.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 2+ years of employment law experience.
• Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations.
• Experience advising on employee relations, investigations, and restrictive covenants preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on employment-related matters, including performance management, disciplinary actions, workplace conduct, accommodations, leaves of absence, employee complaints, terminations, and severance.
• Conduct legal research on federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
• Draft, review, and revise employment agreements, offers, retention agreements, and related documents.
• Assist with internal investigations, witness interviews, and findings.
• Review restrictive covenant agreements and advise on recruitment, onboarding, transitions, and departures.
• Assist with restrictive covenant enforcement matters and related correspondence.
• Manage litigation holds, discovery responses, and employment disputes.
• Draft and update employment policies and training materials.
• Support due diligence in acquisitions relating to employment agreements and risks.
• Support legal technology initiatives to improve department efficiency.
• Provide assistance with other Legal Department initiatives and projects.
• Use approved AI tools while validating outputs for accuracy and privacy.
• Identify information gaps or issues related to digital tools.
