Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a Cost Accountant to support inventory accounting, cost analysis, and month-end close activities. The position is remote and open to candidates nationwide; W2 employment with benefits is offered.

You will maintain cost accounting processes, partner with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate inventory valuation and COGS reporting, and assist in audits, system improvements, and process standardization. Rate is $55–$65 per hour.

Qualifications

• Cost accounting experience in inventory-focused environments.
• Proficiency with reconciliations across 3PLs and vendor shipments.
• Experience supporting month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Ability to analyze COGS, margins, and product profitability.
• Familiarity with standard cost reviews and inventory valuation.
• Experience supporting system implementation and process design.
• Audit support experience and knowledge of internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cost accounting calculations and processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure inventory accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
• Perform standard cost review quarterly and coordinate with Operations.
• Reconcile 3PLs, vendor shipments, and goods in transit.
• Assist in ERP implementation and process design.
• Prepare journal entries and month-end reconciliations.
• Analyze product costs, COGS, margins, and profitability.
• Support FP&A with financial reports for senior management.
• Lead audits and cycle count oversight.
