Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a Cost Accountant to support inventory accounting, cost analysis, and month-end close on a remote contract basis. The role requires maintaining cost accounting processes, partnering with cross-functional teams, and driving accurate inventory valuation and COGS reporting.

You will also assist audits, system improvements, and process standardization while ensuring adherence to internal controls.

Qualifications

• Experience in cost accounting within inventory-focused environments.
• Ability to analyze COGS, margins, and inventory valuation.
• Experience reconciling inventory balances and supplier shipments.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cost accounting calculations and processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure inventory accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
• Perform standard cost reviews quarterly and work with Operations on changes and impacts.
• Perform reconciliations between 3PLs, vendor shipments, and goods in transit.
• Support inventory management system implementations, testing, and process design.
• Assist in developing and maintaining cost accounting policies and procedures.
• Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations during month-end close.
• Review financial statements for assigned areas and provide fluctuation analysis to senior management.
• Analyze product costs, COGS, margins, and profitability.
• Assist FP&A with preparation of financial reports for senior management.
• Collaborate to implement process improvements for accurate valuation and management.
• Lead quarter and year-end audits and oversee cycle count processes.
