Job summary

Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Process Control Engineer to join the Corrugated Controls team within the Process Control Center of Excellence. This corporate role supports corrugated operations across multiple manufacturing sites by delivering hands-on controls engineering aimed at improving line performance, stability and reliability.

The position is home-based on the West Coast with regular travel to facilities (up to 50%), helping optimize product flow, reduce operator intervention, and sustain

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience supporting industrial control systems in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience troubleshooting, configuring, and modifying PLC and HMI systems (Allen Bradley/Siemens).
• Experience implementing control changes in live production with operations/maintenance teams.
• Working knowledge of electrical systems, control panels and field devices.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Support controls-focused optimization to improve product flow, stability and throughput.
• Read, modify, test, and validate PLC and HMI control strategies to improve line behavior.
• Partner with site teams to identify improvements, develop test plans, and run trials.
• Support startup and commissioning of new or upgraded equipment for safe operation.
• Document control improvements clearly for replication across sites.
• Troubleshoot, commission, and optimize with site engineers and technicians.
