Job summary

Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Senior Process Control Engineer to join the Corporate Process Control Center of Excellence in Atlanta, GA. The role focuses on improving control assets, developing new strategies, and enhancing overall process performance.

The ideal candidate will have a chemical/electrical/paper science engineering background and hands-on DCS experience across utilities processes, with frequent travel to sites in the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Chemical, Electrical, or Paper Science Engineering.
• Experience with DCS systems: troubleshooting, configuration, design.
• Experience with utilities processes: boilers, turbines, steam systems, black liquor evaporators, lime kilns.
• Must be willing to travel ~50–75% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Assist mills in keeping control systems operating safely, reliably, and efficiently.
• Provide troubleshooting and support of the daily manufacturing operation.
• Provide guidance to operations on selection and implementation of process control technologies and strategies.
• Work with operations and control teams to optimize existing assets and performance.
• Assist designing, programming, modifying, and maintaining mills' control systems.
• Pursue engineering solutions to resolve equipment deficiencies.
• Support capital projects including control migrations, design, and startup as a corporate SME.
