The California Association of REALTORS® (C.A.R.) is seeking a Corporate Associate Counsel to join our Corporate Legal team. This remote (California-based) role reports to the Assistant General Counsel and involves advising on governance, compliance, nonprofit matters, IP, and corporate transactions, while negotiating and drafting a wide range of contracts.

The ideal candidate has a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school, is a member of the California State Bar, and brings 5+ years of relevant

Qualifications

J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
Member of California State Bar.
5+ years of experience in a law firm or comparable in-house environment.
Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts.
Experience with governance, compliance, nonprofit issues or trade associations, IP, and/or corporate transactions.

Responsibilities

Negotiating, drafting, reviewing, and advising on contracts including speaker agreements, vendor contracts, licenses, event agreements, partnerships, and other business contracts.
Providing legal advice to the Association, its subsidiaries and affiliates on governance, compliance, nonprofit matters, IP, corporate transactions, and general business issues.
Monitoring legal developments affecting trade associations and nonprofit organizations.
Conducting legal research and preparing legal memoranda and other written guidance.
Assisting with development of educational and informational legal resources.
