Job summary

Copeland seeks a Controls Trainer to deliver technical training on controls and system components for customers, contractors, wholesalers, and OEMs in the commercial refrigeration sector. You will translate complex concepts into hands-on learning to help technicians install, program, operate, and troubleshoot our controls portfolio with confidence.

This fully remote US role requires up to 80% travel to customer sites and training centers, with a base salary of $110,000 to $125,000 annually,

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on experience with commercial refrigeration controls as field service technician, engineer or equivalent.
• 2+ years CO2 system experience focused on controls and troubleshooting questions.
• Strong presentation and facilitation skills for varied audiences.
• Working knowledge of controls programming, wiring diagrams, and system troubleshooting.
• Ability to travel up to 80%.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instructor-led, virtual, and multimedia training on controls hardware, software, and system architecture.
• Conduct standard and custom courses tailored to customer and OEM requirements.
• Facilitate hands-on equipment demonstrations and troubleshooting exercises that simulate real-world customer scenarios.
• Collaborate with Controls Training Team to maintain and update curriculum, exercises, and reference materials.
• Partner with Product Management, Engineering, and SMEs to ensure content reflects latest technology and guidance.
• Review and validate e-learning, videos, job aids, and other training materials.
• Follow adult-learning practices and adapt delivery to different audiences and skill levels.
• Evaluate training effectiveness and update materials based on feedback and field data.
• Maintain and troubleshoot training equipment and demonstration systems.
• Stay current on industry trends and participate in events and communities.
• Travel to customer sites, training centers, and industry events as needed.
• Provide post-training support by answering technical questions and guiding to resources.
