Job summary

FamilyWell is seeking an experienced Controller to own accounting operations, lead full-cycle accounting and tax functions, and scale financial infrastructure as we grow nationally. Reporting to the CFO, you will ensure the integrity of financial records, timely monthly close, and strong internal controls for a venture-backed healthcare company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with 2–3 years in a Controller role.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and multi-state tax familiarity.
• Experience leading monthly closes and producing accurate financial statements.
• Ability to work autonomously in a remote startup setting.

Responsibilities

• Own full-cycle accounting, GL, AP/AR, payroll, and revenue recognition.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with GAAP compliance.
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and schedules.
• Oversee tax filings and coordinate with external advisors.
• Design internal controls and support audits and due diligence.
