Job summary

ChowNow, a leading restaurant technology company, seeks a Controller to lead accounting operations, GAAP compliance, and a multi-entity close across the US and Canada. You will direct a 10-person team and partner with finance leadership to improve processes and drive ROI-based decisions.

You will own billing, revenue recognition, audits, and internal controls, and interact with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners. A CPA with SaaS experience and NetSuite proficiency is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including SaaS experience.
• 3+ years of direct people management experience.
• Deep US GAAP knowledge, including revenue recognition and stock-based compensation.
• Experience owning multi-entity monthly close and consolidation; international subsidiary a plus.
• Track record leading external audits and strengthening internal controls over financial reporting.
• Experience managing and developing an accounting team, ideally distributed.
• Comfort operating hands-on in a lean, fast-moving environment; able to own details and build processes.
• Proficiency with NetSuite and modern tech stack (Ramp, Carta).

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly close process, including multi-entity consolidation in NetSuite.
• Own financial reporting and the leadership reporting package including flux analysis and financial statements.
• Oversee equity administration and stock-based compensation accounting.
• Own spend management, including procurement, corporate card spend, expenses, and AP processes.
• Manage banking relationships across US and Canadian entities and related reporting.
• Oversee corporate insurance and vendor renewals across entities.
• Partner with finance leadership and cross-functional teams; liaise with auditors, tax, and banking partners.
• Drive continuous improvement and automation of close and accounting processes.
