Job summary

Vessel Advisors seeks a Controller on a fractional basis to direct accounting, financial reporting, cash management, budgeting, tax coordination, and internal controls across multi-entity industrial real estate development projects, operating properties, and construction management entities.

The ideal candidate blends deep construction accounting with an AI-first mindset, leading workflows with Sage Intacct, modern tools, and multi-agent AI orchestration.

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years of progressive accounting leadership in commercial/industrial real estate development and construction.
• Mastery of GAAP, multi-entity consolidations, job cost accounting, and debt/equity waterfall allocations.
• Hands-on Sage Intacct setup/modification and automated workflow design; experience with GPT tools is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA/CCIFP or Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute daily/weekly review and approval of client credit card transactions and vendor invoices.
• Oversee outside accounting firm work papers, monthly close packages, and financial deliverables.
• Lead Sage Intacct modification and reporting; design custom financial/operational reports.
