Job summary

Alt is hiring a Controller to build and own Alt's accounting function from the ground up. You’ll bring the finance function in-house, close the books, and coordinate audits while driving a transition to US GAAP accrual accounting across all revenue streams.

You’ll own the chart of accounts, revenue recognition, tax calendar, and covenant reporting, and you’ll manage day-to-day accounting operations with an outsourced provider as a foundation for growth.

Qualifications

• Experience bringing finance in-house at an early-stage company.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP accrual accounting.
• Experience coordinating external audits and tax compliance.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly close end-to-end and target a 5-day, audit-ready close.
• Lead the conversion to US GAAP accrual across revenue streams.
• Own the chart of accounts and revenue recognition policy.
• Be the primary contact for external auditors and manage PBCs.
• Oversee tax compliance calendar and liaise with tax advisors.
• Manage day-to-day accounting ops and oversee outsourced provider.
