Job summary

Airgas in Independence, OH is seeking a Control Board Operator to monitor and control air separation and related processes from a central location. The role focuses on safety, reliability, and continuous improvement across multiple sites in the United States.

The position requires 5+ years of control-board experience in industrial settings, familiarity with DCS/SCADA/HMI/PLC interfaces, and a strong electrical/instrumentation troubleshooting background.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED with 5+ years of experience operating a control board in an industrial plant setting.
• Two-year technical college degree or military technical experience preferred.
• Specialized knowledge with DCS/SCADA/HMI/PLC interfaces, electrical/instrumentation troubleshooting, and interpreting schematics/P&IDs.

Responsibilities

• Remotely monitors and maintains safe operation of production facilities using DCS, HMI, and PLC systems to control flow, purities and pressures.
• Executes process engineers' recommendations to optimize operating modes and energy use for higher production efficiency.
• Manages short-term supply availability in collaboration with logistics and maintains product inventory to meet customer needs.
• Safely executes emergency protocols during plant upsets, communicating with teams to ensure continuity of supply.
• Maintains rigorous logbook documentation of all incidents, readings and communications.
