Overland AI is seeking a high-ownership Contract Technical Recruiter to scale our technical teams. You will source, assess, and close candidates for software, autonomy, perception, and robotics roles, partnering with internal recruiters, managers, and leadership.

This role can be remote, or based in Seattle, WA, with a 9-month contract-to-hire path based on performance. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments, builds warm pipelines, and uses data to optimize sourcing strategies

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of sourcing experience for technical roles (robotics/autonomy/defense).
• Strong Boolean search skills with sourcing tools.
• Experience building candidate pipelines for hard-to-fill engineering roles.
• Able to discuss technical roles with candidates and understand roles like perception vs controls engineering.
• Comfort working in a fast-moving, autonomous team with ownership over function.
• Strong written outreach, personalized and genuine.
• Data-driven mindset tracking patterns and adjusting strategies.

Responsibilities

• Own sourcing for engineering and technical roles across the company, including software, autonomy, perception, and robotics.
• Map the talent landscape across core disciplines and keep it current.
• Identify and engage passive candidates via LinkedIn Recruiter, communities, referrals, and outreach channels.
• Build long-term candidate relationships for warm pipelines.
• Partner with recruiters and hiring managers to translate needs into sourcing strategies.
• Develop market intelligence on compensation, talent availability, and competitor hiring activity.
• Write outreach that sounds authentic and tailored to candidates.
• Track sourcing metrics and refine approaches over time.
