Job summary

Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities is seeking a Construction Project Manager to oversee 8–10 concurrent public works projects statewide, from pre-bid to final acceptance. Projects range from $500k to $50M, including airports and highways, with travel to remote locations.

The role requires PE or Architect licensure, strong leadership, and the ability to travel within Alaska, including remote communities. Flexible/hybrid work expectations apply with state benefits.

Qualifications

• Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Architect.
• Special note: registration in Alaska within one year if not already licensed in Alaska.
• Employer will designate field (Engineer or Architect) for each position.

Responsibilities

• Lead construction projects from contract award through project closeout.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, engineers, inspectors, and regulatory agencies.
• Provide guidance to project engineers and inspectors.
• Review change orders, contract modifications, and disputes.
• Monitor budgets, schedules, and contract compliance.
