Job summary

The State of Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities, Central Region Construction & CIP Support, seeks an Engineer/Architect 1/2 Flex (Central Region Construction Project Manager) to manage multiple public works projects from pre-bid to closeout across Alaska.

As a Construction Project Manager you will lead projects ranging from $500k to over $50M, coordinate with contractors and agencies, provide technical guidance, review change orders, and ensure compliance with plans,

Qualifications

Professional Engineer (PE) or Architect license required.
Valid driver's license required.
Frequent travel within Alaska required.

Responsibilities

Lead construction projects from contract award through project closeout.
Coordinate with contractors, consultants, Project Engineers, inspectors, utility companies, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
Provide technical guidance and oversight to Project Engineers, Engineering Assistants, inspectors, and consultant staff.
Review and negotiate change orders, contract modifications, claims, and dispute resolutions.
Monitor project budgets, schedules, and contract compliance to ensure successful project delivery.
Ensure construction activities comply with contract plans, specifications, State and Federal requirements, and applicable permitting conditions.
