Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Construction Manager to oversee new builds, renovations, and expansions of fulfillment centers across the United States. You will lead preconstruction management, coordinate design, schedule, budgeting, and risk mitigation, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure on-time, on-budget project delivery.

Must handle multiple $10M+ projects concurrently, set deadlines, monitor progress, and prepare status reports for leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a comparable field.
• At least 7 years of experience in architecture, engineering, or construction management.
• At least 7 years of project management experience from design to operation.
• At least 7 years negotiating construction, procurement, and labor contracts.
• Strong construction management and site development experience.
• Proficiency in project coordination for complex multi-stakeholder initiatives.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and BIM tools.
• Experience using scheduling software such as Primavera or MS Project.
• Ability to manage RFIs and construction documentation processes.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing cross-functional partners.
• Experience reviewing construction and procurement contracts.
• Effective communication of project requirements to diverse audiences.
• Experience in facilities management or similar roles.
• Program management of concurrent projects.
• PMP or similar credential.

Responsibilities

• Lead preconstruction management activities for retrofit, expansion, and industrial building projects from concept through handoff.
• Obtain and document site specifics from selection and transaction management.
• Coordinate engineering and architectural specifications for each building type.
• Manage coordination related to transportation, internal requirements, and line-of-business standards for each site.
• Coordinate initial architectural design efforts and oversee permit submissions.
• Develop documents for lease execution including site plans, schedules, and phasing plans.
• Create initial construction schedules and define construction sequences.
• Prepare construction cost estimates for capital requests and planning efforts.
• Manage due diligence including utilities coordination before handoff.
• Provide complete documentation for construction handoff in Procore and repositories.
• Maintain site-specific preconstruction work product repositories.
• Set deadlines, assign responsibilities, and monitor progress for projects/programs.
• Ensure compliance with design criteria and spending/transaction policies.
• Prepare concise reports for upper management.
• Lead and direct project teams and external partners.
• Apply judgment to resolve design and construction challenges across multiple projects.
• Support program management for concurrent projects.
