Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Construction Manager for the Greater Los Angeles area to lead multifamily and affordable housing projects from preconstruction through closeout. The role combines in-house general contracting oversight with collaboration across Development, Finance, and Operations teams.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of construction management within multifamily or affordable housing, with a strong track record in budgets, scheduling, and cost controls.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction management experience in multifamily construction.
• Strong experience with affordable housing projects.
• Experience with developers, owners, GCs, or owners reps.
• Proven track record managing projects through preconstruction, construction, and closeout.
• Solid understanding of budgets, schedules, contracts, change orders, and cost controls.
• Ability to manage subcontractors, consultants, design professionals, and internal stakeholders.
• Experience reading drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project docs.
• Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage construction activities for affordable and multifamily housing from preconstruction to closeout.
• Collaborate with Development during design, budgeting, permitting, preconstruction, and construction.
• Coordinate internal resources as part of in-house general contracting.
• Develop and maintain budgets, schedules, scopes of work, and forecasts.
• Conduct constructability reviews, value engineering, and bid analysis.
• Coordinate architects, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, inspectors, and municipalities.
• Monitor progress, quality, safety, schedule, and costs across projects.
• Review RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay apps, and docs.
• Identify risks and develop solutions to minimize impacts on schedule and budget.
• Hold regular site visits and construction meetings to ensure quality and timeliness.
• Oversee punch lists, turnover, closeout docs, COs, warranty items.
• Coordinate with Property and Asset Management during project handover.
• Support renovation/occupied rehab projects when needed.
• Ensure compliance with codes, funding, and organizational standards.
• Help implement better construction processes and controls.
