Qualifications

Responsibilities

Senior Project Manager — Multifamily Construction

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an accomplished Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of a large-scale multifamily construction project in Los Angeles. This is a high-profile opportunity for a seasoned construction professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a proven track record managing complex ground-up residential projects from preconstruction through completion.

The Senior Project Manager will have significant responsibility for project strategy, cost, schedule, contracts, team leadership, and overall execution, working closely with ownership, design teams, consultants, trade partners, and field operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the project from preconstruction through successful completion and turnover.
• Develop and maintain the overall project schedule, budget, procurement strategy, and execution plan.
• Manage project costs, including forecasting, commitments, change orders, contingency, and financial reporting.
• Lead contract administration and manage relationships with owners, architects, consultants, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Coordinate design development, submittals, RFIs, constructability reviews, and value-engineering efforts.
• Identify project risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies.
• Lead regular OAC, subcontractor, design, and project team meetings.
• Partner closely with the Superintendent and field leadership to ensure quality, safety, schedule, and productivity objectives are achieved.
• Review and negotiate change orders, payment applications, and subcontractor issues.
• Maintain strong communication with ownership and provide clear, accurate project reporting.
• Ensure compliance with plans, specifications, contracts, building codes, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Mentor and develop project engineers, assistant project managers, and other team members.
• Drive accountability across the project team and maintain a culture of collaboration and high performance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of construction project management experience, preferably with a leading general contractor or construction manager.
• Proven experience delivering large-scale, ground-up multifamily or mixed-use residential projects.
• Demonstrated experience managing projects with significant budgets and complex scopes.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts, scheduling, estimating, procurement, cost controls, and project financial management.
• Experience working collaboratively with owners, architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Strong knowledge of California construction practices and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent written, verbal, organizational, negotiation, and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and project objectives.
• Proficiency with industry-standard construction management and scheduling software.

Preferred Experience

• Experience managing high-density multifamily developments in the Los Angeles market.
• Experience with podium, Type III/Type V, concrete, or other complex multifamily construction.
• Experience leading projects through entitlement, preconstruction, procurement, construction, commissioning, and turnover.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is preferred.
