Job summary

Virtual Assist is seeking skilled Construction Estimators to analyze drawings, specs, and data to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for construction projects. Remote role with collaboration across project managers, engineers, and subcontractors.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of estimator experience, proficiency with ProEst, PlanSwift, Bluebeam, and Sage Estimating, and strong mathematical and analytical skills. A Bachelor's in CM or Civil Eng is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Construction Estimator requested.
• Experience with residential, commercial, civil, or industrial construction.
• Proficiency with estimating software such as ProEst, PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or Sage Estimating.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documents.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, plans, and specs to develop estimates.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, and subcontractors.
• Analyze data and pricing trends to improve estimate accuracy.
• Solicit bids from subcontractors and vendors.
• Maintain unit costs database and productivity rates.
• Participate in bid reviews and risk analysis.
• Coordinate with project managers to transition projects to production.
• Assist in value engineering and cost-saving strategies.
• Maintain records and documentation for estimates.
• Communicate pricing and lead times with vendors.
