Job summary

Hispanic Access Foundation invites applications for a Conservation Director to provide strategic and operational leadership of the Conservation portfolio, including Lands & Nature, Waterways, Oceans & Coasts, Climate & Energy, and Community Engagement. This fully remote role reports to leadership and will coordinate a geographically distributed team.

The role emphasizes translating priorities into high-impact programs, ensuring budgets, grants, and staff performance align with our Theory of

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in environmental science, conservation, public administration, or related field preferred.
• Seven or more years of progressively responsible experience managing conservation, environmental, climate, or related programs.
• At least three years of supervising and developing professional staff.
• Experience managing complex, grant-funded programs with multiple funding sources.
• Strong project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with federal agencies and large partnerships preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Conservation team and drive program strategy across Lands & Nature, Waterways, Oceans & Coasts, Climate & Energy, and Community Engagement.
• Translate priorities into actionable program strategies, work plans, and measurable outcomes.
• Oversee day-to-day program implementation, ensuring on-time delivery and grant compliance.
• Monitor performance using data and feedback to strengthen impact and efficiency.
• Develop and manage program budgets and forecasts with Finance; oversee grants and reporting.
• Cultivate relationships with government agencies, funders, and community partners.
