Job summary

Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid's Minnesota Disability Law Center seeks a full-time legal advocate to conduct compliance reviews of SSA representative payees. The role involves travel across Minnesota, hybrid work options, and on-the-job training within the Rep Payee Review Team.

Ideal candidates will have 2+ years in investigation or related work, strong communication, and the ability to work independently with sensitive data. SSA background check is required.

Qualifications

• Requires Level V moderate risk public trust clearance.
• Two years of investigation, audit, disability service program supervision, or case management experience.
• High school diploma or GED plus 3 years related experience and/or training; AA may substitute for 2 years.
• Knowledge of federal/state disability benefits and services (SSI/SSDI), housing or wage laws.
• Proficiency in accounting principles and terminology.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site reviews and investigations per SSA guidelines.
• Develop corrective action plans for representative payees to achieve compliance.
• Provide referrals to SSA beneficiaries to access advocacy or legal resources.
• Prepare comprehensive reports using SSA forms and SSA database.
