Job summary

BuzzFeed Community is seeking a Contract Community Editor & Strategist to edit high-quality user-generated content, coach creators, and grow a welcoming creator ecosystem across BuzzFeed Community.

You’ll work with the Community Strategy team on publishing strategy, analytics, and creator initiatives while maintaining editorial standards and fostering engagement in a fast-paced, remote-friendly environment.

Qualifications

• Excellent editing, grammar, and proofreading with attention to detail.
• Strong written communication and the ability to give constructive feedback to creators.
• Experience building relationships with online communities or creators.
• Familiarity with CMS and digital publishing workflows.
• Interest in analytics, SEO, and social strategy is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Edit submissions from the BuzzFeed Community Creator Program (BFCCP) to meet editorial standards.
• Provide editorial feedback, coaching, and best practices to creators.
• Engage with contributors in Discord, answer questions, encourage participation, build relationships.
• Moderate Community content and comments to maintain a positive environment.
• Curate standout Community content by identifying posts with editorial or viral potential.
• Use traffic/engagement data to inform editorial decisions.
• Collaborate with Audience Development and Editorial teams on initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve creator education, onboarding, and program success.
