Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Communications Systems Designer to contribute to the design of telecommunications, security, and AV systems for building projects. The role supports multiple concurrent projects and operates in a remote/office hybrid setup based in Austin, TX, with nationwide collaboration.

Requirements include active US citizenship, RCDD credentials, 5+ years in active building communications systems, and proficiency with MS Office; preferred BS in EE and PE license.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship is required.
• BICSI RCDD is required.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience of active communications systems for buildings is required.
• Experience with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, and Outlook) is required.
• Familiarity and demonstrated knowledge of ANSI/TIA and BICSI standards required.
• Familiarity with CSI Divisions 27 & 28 is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Strong interpersonal and time management skills are required.
• HS Diploma, or equivalent is required.
• Self-motivation to coordinate with other disciplines and customers is required.
• Proficiency in communicating technical information to engineering and related staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical design of systems for building projects including telecommunications, electronic security, audio-visual systems, and related technologies.
• Responsibilities include preparation of engineering drawings, specifications, reports, and review of technical documents.
• Will be responsible for completing project assignments with minimal supervision as well as directing to support staff to complete a project.
