Job summary

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. seeks a Communications Systems Designer (RCDD) for federal projects. The role covers end-to-end design of telecommunications, electronic security, and AV systems from concept through construction administration.

Remote/hybrid work is available from Austin, TX, with nationwide project teams. Applicants must hold an active RCDD, with a preference for PE licensure or strong power knowledge for rack and cabinet design.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship is required.
• BICSI RCDD is required.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience of active communications systems for buildings is required.
• Experience with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, and Outlook) is required.
• Familiarity with ANSI/TIA and BICSI standards required.
• Familiarity with CSI Divisions 27 & 28 is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Strong interpersonal and time management skills are required.
• HS Diploma, or equivalent is required.
• Self-motivation to coordinate with other disciplines and customers is required.
• Proficiency in communicating technical information to engineering and related staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical design of systems for building projects including telecommunications, electronic security, audio-visual systems, and related technologies.
• Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, reports, and review technical documents.
• Complete project assignments with minimal supervision and direct support staff to complete a project.
