Job summary

Zions Bancorporation in Midvale, UT is seeking a Commercial/Small Business Banking Underwriter to compile credit packages, assess risk, and support loan approvals for commercial loans. This in-office role requires attention to detail and strong financial analysis.

You will spread financial statements, evaluate credit worthiness, and coordinate with Relationship Managers and Credit Approvers on renewals and new loans, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Finance, Business, Accounting or a related field and 1 year commercial, CRE or small business underwriting, spread analysis, lending, underwriting concepts, practices and procedures or other related experience.
• 1 year of commercial, CRE or small business underwriting experience.
• Knowledge of balance sheets, income and cash flow statements.
• Ability to identify risk and mitigate factors in credit analysis.

Responsibilities

• Compile data for credit packages with spreads, cash flow, collateral, appraisals.
• Interpret analyses and present summaries to Credit Approvers with RM.
• Evaluate and form opinions on loan applications (commercial, CRE, small business).
• Spread financial statements and assess credit worthiness.
• Ensure requests comply with bank policies and laws.
• Assist with loan structuring and approvals beyond guidelines.
