Job summary

Shulman Rogers, P.A. seeks a mid-level Commercial Litigation Attorney to join our Litigation Department in Potomac, MD. Ideal candidate has 3–7 years of substantive commercial litigation experience and strong research and writing skills.

Responsibilities include handling a broad range of matters in state and federal courts, managing all phases of litigation, drafting pleadings and motions, conducting research, and assisting in settlement negotiations.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
• 3–7 years of substantive commercial or business litigation experience, preferably in a law firm environment.
• Maryland Bar license required; DC and/or Virginia is a plus.
• Demonstrated experience with discovery, depositions, motion practice, and court proceedings.

Responsibilities

• Handle a broad range of commercial and business litigation matters in state and federal courts.
• Manage all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, hearings, and trial preparation.
• Draft substantive pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests and responses, and other litigation documents.
• Conduct legal research and analysis and develop effective case strategies.
• Participate in settlement negotiations, mediations, and other dispute resolution proceedings.
