Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Remote Commercial Lines Underwriter in South Africa. You will assess risks, price coverage, and manage a profitable book while working remotely with brokers and agents.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of underwriting experience, strong analytical and communication skills, and familiarity with underwriting software and MS Office. ACII designation is a plus.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management or related field.
• ACII designation is advantageous.
• 5+ years of commercial lines underwriting experience.

Aufgaben

• Underwrite new and renewal commercial insurance applications, evaluating risks and pricing.
• Analyze financial data, loss runs, and other information to assess profitability.
• Develop and maintain relationships with brokers and agents via virtual communication.
• Ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines, policies, and risk appetite.
• Clearly communicate underwriting decisions and rationale to brokers and stakeholders.
• Identify cross-sell and up-sell opportunities with existing clients.
• Stay current with industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes.
• Contribute to development and refinement of underwriting tools and processes.
• Mentor junior underwriters and provide technical guidance as needed.
• Manage a profitable book of business focusing on growth and risk management.
