Job summary

Johnson Barrow Inc. in the United States is seeking an experienced HVAC/Chiller Service Technician – Traveling to join our team.

This remote-based role focuses on equipment start-up, troubleshooting, and ongoing service for commercial HVAC systems, including chillers, across the nation. The ideal candidate will independently troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems, ensure performance, and provide excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of commercial HVAC service or maintenance experience.
• Advanced knowledge of the refrigeration cycle.
• Advanced understanding of wiring schematics and troubleshooting.
• EPA Type 1 & 2 Refrigerant Certification required.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform equipment start-up and commissioning of newly installed HVAC systems, including verifying proper operation and settings.
• Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance to maximize system life and efficiency.
• Diagnose and repair HVAC equipment issues such as electrical faults, refrigerant leaks, or airflow imbalances.
• Verify that control systems and safety devices are functioning correctly.
• Work with project managers and installation teams to resolve post-installation issues quickly and effectively.
• Document all service and maintenance work performed, including test results, parts used, and system adjustments.
• Provide clear communication to customers about system performance, recommended improvements, and service needs.
• Maintain compliance with safety standards, codes, and company procedures.
• Participate in training to stay current with HVAC technologies, diagnostic tools, and energy efficiency practices.
