Johnson Barrow in the Pacific Northwest seeks a traveling HVAC/Chiller Service Technician to perform start-up, commissioning and ongoing service for commercial systems nationwide. The role involves up to 80% travel and remote work arrangements with a rotating schedule designed for home time.

The ideal candidate will troubleshoot and repair HVAC equipment, ensure performance and safety, and maintain customer satisfaction while working with project teams to resolve issues.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of commercial HVAC service or maintenance experience.
• Advanced knowledge of the refrigeration cycle.
• Advanced understanding of wiring schematics and troubleshooting.
• EPA Type 1 & 2 Refrigerant Certification required.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform equipment start-up and commissioning of HVAC systems.
• Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance to maximize efficiency.
• Diagnose and repair HVAC issues including electrical faults and leaks.
• Verify control systems and safety devices function correctly.
• Document service work, test results, and parts used.
• Provide clear communication to customers about performance and needs.
