Ladders is seeking a Commercial Counsel to serve as a strategic legal partner for growth-focused commercial transactions in the healthcare sector. This remote role involves shaping contract positions, regulatory awareness, and building scalable legal infrastructure for enterprise agreements with health systems and life sciences organizations.

Qualifications

• JD and active bar membership.
• 7+ years of in-house healthcare or life sciences legal experience.
• Experience negotiating enterprise contracts with key terms such as IP ownership and data use.
• Knowledge of the Anti-Kickback Statute and fair market value compliance.
• Track record managing multiple outside counsel relationships.
• Proven ability to create legal infrastructure in a startup environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the legal partner for commercial deals with health systems and life sciences organizations.
• Define and uphold intellectual property and liability positions in contracts.
• Lead legal reviews for value-based commercial agreements.
• Screen life sciences contracts for compliance with anti-kickback regulations.
• Oversee compliance obligations across all signed agreements.
• Coordinate with external counsel on specialized commercial and regulatory matters.
• Establish streamlined legal operations from contract intake to signature.
