Job summary

City of New York’s Department of Finance is seeking a Collections Data Analyst to develop analytics strategies and reporting across collections activities. You will create reports and dashboards, monitor KPIs, and work with modernization teams to drive data-driven decision making.

The role involves cross-department collaboration, ad hoc analyses, and improving agent performance through data insights. Remote work up to 2 days/week may be available under the city pilot program.

Qualifications

• Must have permanent Administrative Staff Analyst civil service title or be eligible for a title change.
• Master's degree or bachelor's degree with substantial professional experience in budget/financial management, accounting, economics or related fields.
• 18 months of executive/managerial/supervisory experience required as described in the job posting.

Responsibilities

• Develop reports and dashboards to identify opportunities and provide insights.
• Use statistics to create ad hoc reporting tools to monitor collections performance.
• Leverage multiple databases to create reports for actionable insights on agents’ performance and collections operations.
• Support objectives with data extraction, manipulation, and root-cause analysis to guide decision making.
• Monitor operating KPIs and recommend improvements to increase profitability.
