Job summary

The Ohio State University seeks a Compliance Specialist, Conflict of Interest to support the COI program within ERIK’s Research Compliance team. The role conducts routine COI reviews, advises researchers, and helps manage COI disclosure processes and management plans.

You will coordinate COI training, monitor the shared COI inbox, and help develop SOPs while supporting federal sponsor reporting and COI metrics reporting to ERIK. Remote Ohio work is eligible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum two years of experience in higher education, research administration, or compliance related to conflict of interest.
• Three or more years of experience in conflict of interest, research administration, human subject protection, and/or compliance in higher education.
• Excellent verbal, written and visual communication and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated experience in the interpretation and application of state and federal regulations.
• Complex regulatory analysis, problem solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to develop strong relationships and work with faculty, staff, and students and be receptive to their feedback.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine COI reviews and advise principal investigators and research teams on COI disclosure forms.
• Assist with developing, operating, and managing processes for auditing COI disclosure forms and compliance with conflict management plans.
• Develop, execute, and document COI management plans involving researchers’ outside activities.
