Akron Childrens Hospital is seeking a Coding Specialist II to provide training and leadership to Coding Specialist I staff. This remote, full-time role involves reviewing medical records, coding with CPT/HCPCS/ICD, and ensuring accurate charge entry across Epic systems.

Ideal candidates have CPT/ICD coding experience, healthcare background, and a coding certification (AAPC/AHIMA). Bachelors degree preferred. Strong MS Office skills are required for daily tasks.

Formación

• CPT and ICD coding experience is preferred.
• Healthcare experience is preferred.
• Certification: AAPC or AHIMA Coding Certification is preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Provides training, mentoring, and leadership to Coding Specialist I employees.
• Performs daily reconciliation of all clinical services and assigns CPT, HCPCS and ICD codes prior to charge entry.
• Reviews EPIC charge review work queues daily and makes coding changes for errors prior to charge entry.
• Conducts prospective reviews of all surgical or procedural visits for proper code assignment prior to charge entry.
• Conducts periodic prospective reviews of 5%-10% physician office visits for proper code assignment prior to charge entry.
• Performs charge entry into EPIC or AS400 for all clinical, coded and billable services.
• Other duties as required.
