Job summary

Health Information Associates (HIA) seeks a remote Compliance Auditor to review inpatient and outpatient records for ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT coding accuracy, and to prepare concise recommendation worksheets with findings and references.

You will present executive summaries, conduct exit conferences with administration and coding staff, and support education exits through Teams. Requires RHIA/RHIT/CCS credentials and at least five years in acute care coding.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with RHIA, RHIT, or CCS credential.
• Minimum 5 years inpatient and outpatient coding experience in an acute care facility.
• I-10-CM/PCS proficient.
• Experience using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
• Independent, focused, and able to work remotely.

Responsibilities

• Reviews inpatient/outpatient records to ensure codes are accurate to ICD-10 CM/PCS and CPT conventions.
• Validates admission details, dates, origin, patient status and coder queries.
• Uses 3M and other coding tools to analyze codes, sequencing and edits.
• Runs preliminary and final statistical and coder-specific reports.
• Prepares exit conference materials and presents findings to administration and coding staff.
• Keeps executive summaries and recommendations up to date.
• Communicates findings with HIM leadership and education teams.
