Job summary

YO AI Labs is seeking experienced COBOL developers to contribute to a high-impact AI training project. You will analyze COBOL code, document business logic, and evaluate legacy systems in a mainly remote setting. No AI background required; deep COBOL and mainframe expertise matters.

You will annotate scripts and design test scenarios for real-world applications. Candidates should be able to work independently from a remote environment and collaborate with project coordinators to ensure accuracy

Qualifications

Proven professional experience as a COBOL Developer or Mainframe Developer.
Strong proficiency in COBOL programming and legacy application environments.
Experience working with mainframe systems and related technologies.
Strong understanding of complex legacy codebases, business rules, and system workflows.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and accurately.
Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple deliverables in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

Analyze and interpret existing COBOL codebases, workflows, and business logic.
Develop clear and accurate documentation of COBOL programs, system processes, and technical requirements.
Review and evaluate COBOL code, pseudocode, and project scenarios for accuracy and completeness.
Identify edge cases, ambiguities, potential defects, and areas requiring clarification.
Annotate COBOL scripts and technical content to support the development of high-quality AI training datasets.
Design and review test cases and scenarios representing real-world COBOL and mainframe applications.
Provide expert guidance on legacy system architecture, integrations, and dependencies.
Collaborate with project coordinators and technical experts through clear written and verbal communication.
Ensure all submitted technical materials meet high standards of accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
Support projects involving legacy-system modernization, migration, integration, or transformation where applicable.
