Qualifications

Proven COBOL Developer or Mainframe Developer with strong COBOL programming skills.
Experience with mainframe environments and legacy systems is required.
Knowledge of JCL, DB2, CICS, and VSAM preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to document complex business logic clearly.

Responsibilities

Analyze and interpret COBOL codebases, workflows, and business logic.
Document COBOL programs, system processes, and technical requirements clearly.
Review COBOL code, pseudocode, and project scenarios for accuracy.
Identify edge cases, ambiguities, defects, and areas needing clarification.
Annotate COBOL scripts to support AI training data development.
Design and review test cases representing real-world COBOL/mainframe use.
Provide guidance on legacy system architecture, integrations, and dependencies.
Collaborate with project teams through clear written and verbal communication.
Ensure submitted materials meet high standards of accuracy and completeness.
Support legacy-system modernization, migration, or integration projects where applicable.
