Job summary

CentralSquare Technologies is seeking an entry-level Release Engineer to join cross-functional teams and deliver reliable software upgrades in customer environments. You’ll learn cloud release practices, work with engineers, and support migration to managed services while upholding security and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities include performing upgrades, validating systems, aiding rollbacks, and documenting procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in CS or related field.
• 1–2 years of professional experience with Linux, Python, SQL, and Git.
• Familiarity with software upgrade, patching, or release processes.
• Familiarity with Agile and DevOps processes.
• Basic knowledge of configuration management tools and infrastructure automation.

Responsibilities

• Perform software upgrades and patches in customer-facing and internal environments.
• Prepare for upgrades by reviewing release notes and validating readiness.
• Execute post-upgrade testing and validation; escalate issues promptly.
• Support rollback procedures when upgrades fail.
• Coordinate upgrade schedules and communicate status to teams and customers.
• Help with deployments to customer-facing and internal environments and apply security patches.
• Document upgrade procedures, runbooks, and processes for clarity and reuse.
• Assist in migrating server environments to managed services or cloud platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and learn from senior engineers.
