Job summary
Eliassen Group seeks a Cloud Operations Engineer for a remote, contract role to manage cloud infrastructure, data rehydration, and disaster recovery across Azure and AWS, supporting business continuity and regulatory compliance.
You will automate rehydration workflows with Python, PowerShell, or Bash, monitor recovery processes, build dashboards, and coordinate with teams to meet SLAs and improve restoration procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in Cloud Operations, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Infrastructure Operations.
Responsibilities
- Monitor, maintain, and support cloud infrastructure services across Azure and AWS to ensure availability, reliability, and operational stability.
- Execute end-to-end data rehydration and recovery activities from cloud archival and backup services.
- Restore data from Azure Blob Archive Tier, Azure Backup, Azure Recovery Services Vault, AWS S3 Glacier, and other long-term storage solutions.
- Manage and optimize rehydration processes to meet defined SLAs and SLOs.
- Coordinate with application, infrastructure, database, and business teams during recovery events.
