Job summary

Eliassen Group is looking for a Cloud Operations Engineer to manage cloud infrastructure and data rehydration across Azure and AWS in a remote, contract role. You will support disaster recovery, compliance, and data restoration while improving restoration procedures and SLAs.

The role requires DevOps, scripting, and Kubernetes experience with AKS and cloud storage services. This position offers a competitive W2 package and full benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT/Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years in Cloud Operations, DevOps, SRE, or Infra Operations.
• Experience with Azure storage (Blob/Archive/Backup) and AWS S3 Glacier.
• Experience with CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
• Proficient in scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash).
• Kubernetes and AKS operations knowledge; cloud security basics.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and support cloud infrastructure across Azure and AWS.
• Execute end-to-end data rehydration and recovery activities.
• Restore data from archive and long-term storage solutions.
• Automate rehydration workflows using scripting languages.
• Develop monitoring, dashboards, alerts, and reports.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams during recovery events.
• Ensure SLAs/SLOs and data integrity during restoration.
• Provide operational support for Azure AKS, App Services, VMSS, and AWS services.
• Troubleshoot cloud platform issues impacting retrieval operations.
• Document recovery activities and post-incident lessons learned.
