Job summary

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of software engineering or infrastructure experience with production systems.
• Experience designing, deploying, and managing cloud infrastructure on AWS and/or GCP.
• Production experience with data streaming platforms (Kafka/Amazon MSK) and relational/NoSQL databases.
• Strong Python and Shell scripting for automation.
• Hands-on with infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, and container orchestration in production.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, alerting for distributed systems and on-call ownership.

Responsibilities

• Build, operate, and optimize data streaming infrastructure using MSK or Pub/Sub for real-time and batch pipelines.
• Deploy and manage highly available databases and caching platforms across multi-cloud environments.
• Develop infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud automation for repeatable deployments.
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability to proactively detect issues.
• Collaborate with application teams to tune performance and data access layers.
• Administer analytics engines like Starburst Galaxy and AWS Athena for cost-effective analytics.
• Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews.
• Share on-call rotation to support mission-critical data infrastructure.
• Review code for performance or reliability issues and guide targeted optimizations.
• Evaluate emerging tools and automation approaches to improve operations.
• Contribute to capacity planning, disaster recovery, security hardening, and cost optimization.
