Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. is seeking a Performance Tester / Platform Engineer to join an agile team focused on modernizing enterprise-class software for the AO of the US Courts.

You will design automated performance testing frameworks, monitor performance KPIs, and drive optimization across cloud-based workloads using CI/CD pipelines in a remote work setting. The role emphasizes real-time observability, cross-team collaboration, and documentation of performance findings.

Qualifications

• Experience in performance engineering and automated testing of cloud-based applications and platforms.
• Strong knowledge of performance testing tools such as JMeter, Gatling, LoadRunner, BlazeMeter, or k6.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, New Relic, CloudWatch, or Elastic Stack.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or JavaScript for automation of testing and reporting workflows.
• Familiarity with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices testing strategies.
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure performance characteristics (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Experience with telemetry frameworks and logging standards for traceability.
• Able to analyze large test data sets to identify trends and root causes.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum and sprint ceremonies.
• DevSecOps implementation using GitOps or similar tools.
• Containerized app development/testing with Docker/K8s/OpenShift.
• Source control and build/release tooling knowledge.
• Extensive test planning, scripting, and performance test execution experience.
• Familiarity with SaaS, PaaS, or IaaS concepts.
• Migration methodologies for IaaS/PaaS including cloud app migrations.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain automated performance testing frameworks integrated into CI/CD pipelines for cloud-native apps.
• Define and track performance KPIs based on SLAs and stakeholder requirements.
• Conduct load, stress, and scalability testing under multi-tenant conditions and concurrent users.
• Develop and manage a performance dashboard with executive and technical reporting.
• Perform real-time monitoring, observability, and telemetry setup for performance.
• Collaborate with devs, QA, SREs to identify bottlenecks and optimize performance.
• Validate performance of critical workflows and API endpoints.
• Capture and report metrics like CPU, memory, disk, network and logs for tuning.
• Contribute to MSR and sprint-level performance docs.
• Align performance testing with DevSecOps and MLOps processes.
